Balinese Hindu In Keeping Religion,Art And Custom

Perhaps many people have known Bali, either from many mass media or visit the island themselves to see its beauty and its unique culture.
It is true that Bali is a smaal island,part of many island belong to Indonesia.This small island is also known as a beatiful island where the majority of its people are Hindu. Balinese are aknown to have calm and patient characters. They also keep their custom and culture up to this globalization era.
Balinese Hindu based their daily routines on"Tri Hita Karana" concept,which means three causes of happiness,namely :
-Parhyangan (relationship between human and God)
-Palemahan (relationship between human and nature)
- Pawongan (relationship between human themselves)
This concept is always performed harmoniously. So,it's not surprising to see them performing their religion's ritual every day. It is believed that this ritual ceremony is important to neutralize evil things.
These ceremonies are called yadnya - holy sacrifice.
Yadnya can be categorized into:
-Dewa Yadnya
-Bhuta Yadnya
-Rsi Yadnya
-Pitra Yadnya
-Manusa Yadnya
All of them are called Panca Yadnya.
Moreover, Balinese Hindu also respect environment - animals and plants. They believe that human, animal and plants need one another in their life. Therefore there is a special day which is dedicated to respect plants called Tumpek Wariga or Tumpek Wariga or Tumpek Pengarah Day.
There is also a special day for animals called Tumpek Kandang where human express their gratitude to God for keeping their animals is good condition.
Basically,both of the above ceremonies are the expressions of gratitude to God almighty for His Blessing in human's life.
Other ceremony is called "melaspas".This is perfomed after Balinese Hindu finish building something.It's purpose is to cleanse and remove all of the filth that might happen during the contruction process. It also functioned as a remark that the building is ready to use. This ceremony is held for residences, streets, office buildings, animal sheds, temple, hotels ,etc.
Ceremonies mentioned above ae just some examples of Balinese Hindu in doing their custom and religion.There are many more unique ceremonies that people can't find in other part of the world. As long as Balinese hindu keep their culture and religion,it is believed that Bali will stay as the attention of the world.
